How IECC is Powering Infrastructure Growth in Sierra Leone

International Earthmoving & Construction Company SL. LTD (IECC), which was established in 2009, has emerged as a key player in the infrastructure development of Sierra Leone.  What started off as a daring idea from a driven young engineer has developed into one of the most reputable and competent civil works contractors in the nation—equipped, seasoned, and dedicated to the development of the country.

IECC is contributing to the writing of Sierra Leone’s development narrative, rather than just a part of it.

A Foundation Built on Purpose

IECC was established to satisfy the needs of Sierra Leone’s quickly growing infrastructure and construction industry.  Our goal has always been to produce excellent products on schedule, with the appropriate tools and personnel.

By virtue of its operational efficiency, technological know-how, and financial stability, IECC has made a name for itself as a trustworthy partner to both foreign contractors and government agencies.  Our extensive range of equipment, in-house quarry operations, batching facility, and professional crew have enabled us to confidently take on and complete complicated projects.

Projects That Shaped a Nation

IECC has been instrumental in some of the nation’s most important infrastructure projects during the last ten years.  We have partnered with world-renowned construction leaders because of our quick mobilization, flexibility in responding to site requirements, and ability to maintain quality under duress.

Here are just a few of the landmark projects we’ve proudly contributed to:

Rainwater Capture System – U.S. Embassy, Freetown

The U.S. Department of State granted Pernix Serka a $10.8 million contract, while IECC was chosen to supply equipment, site support, aggregate, and ready-mixed concrete.  This project demonstrated our capacity to support sustainable water infrastructure while adhering to demanding international standards.

Freetown Port Expansion

Partnering with French construction giant Eiffage, IECC played a vital role in the $52.5 million expansion of Freetown’s port. Our contributions included supplying concrete, paving blocks, aggregate stone, river sand, and waste transportation—helping enhance Sierra Leone’s maritime capacity and trade potential.

Marine Security Guard Quarters – U.S. Embassy

IECC supported Epik International in constructing a new high-security residential facility for U.S. Marines. We provided equipment, ready-mix concrete, and materials—ensuring efficient delivery under tight deadlines and high-compliance conditions.

Cape Sierra Hilton Redevelopment

In collaboration with Shapoorji Pallonji Mideast LLC, IECC provided heavy machinery, concrete, and aggregates to help turn the Cape Sierra Hotel into a top-tier Hilton resort.  In addition to boosting the travel industry, this landmark hotel project demonstrated IECC’s capacity to finance high-end building.

More Than a Contractor—A Growth Partner

IECC’s role in powering Sierra Leone’s infrastructure isn’t just about materials or machinery. It’s about being a partner in long-term national growth. We bring:

  • One of the largest equipment fleets in Sierra Leone
  • A fully equipped batching plant and mobile crushers
  • A dedicated workforce, including local skilled labor and international experts
  • A culture of timeliness, reliability, and integrity

We’ve proven, time and again, that when the project is critical and the timeline is tight, IECC delivers.

Looking Ahead

The demands for sustainable development, housing, transportation, and water systems all increase along with Sierra Leone’s population. IECC is prepared to address those needs with expertise, capability, and steadfast dedication.

Although we are pleased with our current path, we are aware that the future holds even more promise. We’re not just creating buildings, whether they be ports, embassies, or five-star hotels; we’re building the future of Sierra Leone.
